We have 50 m2 Reception room on the ground floor with about 60 animal taxidermies: mammals, birds and fishes. The bird exhibition upstairs currently hosts about 1,300 birds. Many of the species exhibited come from Central Europe, enriched by many other specimens from all over the world. The exhibited specimens are in excellent condition and prepared using modern techniques. Visitors will find easy explanations in German, Italian and soon in English. The names of the birds are written in three languages.
In Vanni's Bird World, bird species are shown by habitats or bird families. The exhibition comprises 1,365 birds corresponding to 125 families of 24 orders, namely:
Non passeriformes, 23 orders - 61 families - 752 birds
Passeriformes or passerine bird, 1 order - 64 families - 613 birds
Worldwide there are about 35 bird orders, nearly 200 families, and about 10,000 bird species. It is therefore an exceptional exhibition for the diversity and number of birds showed: more than 110 parrots, 87 species of ducks, 60 finches, 62 flycatchers, 51 pheasants, 50 hawk-like species, etc.
